An association of
people who are concerned with heart health or who have experienced
heart issues
who stay active in recreational and social programs through a heart
healthy
fitness program
Why be Part of
CASE?
An ongoing heart
health goal is to stay physically and socially active.
Most CASE members participate
in Edmonton's drop-in fitness
program.
This program,
originally developed and offered by CASE, is now offered to anyone who
has had
heart issues, or are just interested in cardiac health.
This low impact
program is a great way to keep active, improve your overall health and
meet
others who have experienced similar heart issues. However,
participation in this City program is not essential
to becoming a CASE member.
We belong to CASE
because we find that the mutual support and friendship of other members
is an
important motivation to continued participation in physical fitness.
What do Case
Members do?
Led by a qualified
fitness leader, members work out at a level appropriate to their heart
condition. The fitness program is
designed to maintain a healthy heart rate while building strength,
flexibility
and endurance. For those who look
forward to exercising with others in a team setting, volleyball is
played before
the class.
If they have purchased City of Edmonton
Multiple Facilities Full Access Passes,
CASE members may
access other Edmonton drop-in fitness programs such as Aquasize, Yoga,
Dancing,
and the new Health Start Programs at other city facilities.
With our shared health
experiences, members enjoy companionship during their work outs and at
a
variety of social and educational activities that are sponsored by CASE.
Where and when
do we meet?
The CASE fitness
program is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30
PM at the Terwillegar Rec Centre, 2051 Leger Road.
You do not have to be
a member of CASE to come to the heart fitness program.
However you do have to
buy a City of Edmonton recreation pass (daily, monthly or annual) to
come to
the facility and participate.
CASE members can purchase
their facility passes at a discounted rate.
Social activities are
held at the South East Edmonton Seniors Association, 9350 - 82 Street,
Edmonton.
